About Tithi Mithi

Free, easy tools for typing Nepali and working with the Nepali calendar.

Tithi Mithi (तिथि मिति, “lunar day and date”) brings together the tools people in Nepal and abroad use every day: Nepali Unicode typing, Preeti and Unicode converters, today’s Bikram Sambat date, a month calendar and a BS–AD date converter. We also publish plain-language guides on our blog.

Who it’s for

Students writing assignments, office staff working with old Preeti documents, teachers making notices, parents filling in forms, designers making posters in Nepali, and anyone in the diaspora who wants to write to family in Nepali. We designed every tool so that a 10-year-old can use it without help.

What we care about

  • Easy to use. Big buttons, clear steps and one-tap copying on phones.
  • Privacy. All typing and conversion runs in your browser. The text you type or paste is never uploaded.
  • Accuracy. The calendar table was checked against four independent open-source datasets, and the date converter is tested on every day from 1975 to 2090 BS. The Preeti converter is checked in both directions against a list of common words and full sentences.
  • Speed. Pages are small and work well on slow mobile connections.

Fonts

The fonts in the image maker are free, open-licence fonts (SIL Open Font License) such as Mukta, Noto Sans and Noto Serif Devanagari, Tiro, Kalam, Yatra One and Amita, plus any fonts the site owner adds with permission.
